Manage your solutions

Reflects the product as of 2026-06-10

Solutions are the products you sell. Keeping them well-described pays off everywhere downstream: value drivers map to them, and business cases group benefits under them. This guide covers adding, configuring, and organizing your portfolio in Solutions.

Add a solution

  1. Open Solutions in the sidebar and click "+ Add solution".
  2. Give it a name and a one-line description in buyer language.
  3. Classify it with the three-part taxonomy: CategorySubcategoryUse case (for example: Security Solutions → IAM Solutions → SAML Federation). Each level narrows the next, and the classification drives which value drivers Serre suggests.
  4. Optionally set a primary target industry — this tailors the wording of the subcategory and use-case options — and link the product page URL.
  5. Click "Save solution".

Solutions detected from your website during setup appear with an "Auto-filled" badge. Treat them as drafts: open each one, confirm the classification, and fix the description.

The flagship

One solution in your portfolio is the flagship — your primary product, the one that got deep configuration during setup. Its badge appears wherever the solution is referenced, including on value drivers mapped to it.

The portfolio snapshot

The "Portfolio snapshot" banner at the top shows the portfolio's health at a glance: how many solutions it holds, which one is the flagship, and counts for Configured (complete category / subcategory / use case) and Source backed (a product page or detected from your website).

Aim to get every solution configured — unclassified solutions can't pull in tailored driver suggestions.

How solutions connect to value drivers

In Value Drivers, every driver shows which solutions it applies to. A driver mapped to nothing is "Portfolio-wide" — it applies to everything you sell. You set the mapping when building or editing a driver; see Build a value driver.
