A prospect is the company you're selling to. Get the profile right and every business case for that account starts from solid ground. This takes about two minutes with the website analyzer.

1. Start with their website

  1. Open Prospects in the sidebar and click "+ New Prospect".
  2. On the "Start with their website" screen, paste the prospect's website URL and click "Analyze website" (uses 1 AI Generation). Serre analyzes the account and fills in a first pass for you to review. Prefer typing? Click "Skip and fill it manually".
  3. The analysis pre-fills the profile: name, industry, employee and revenue ranges, public or private status (with ticker if public), strategic priorities, and likely pain points.

Two things to watch as the results land:

  • Industry mapping. If Serre couldn't match the detected industry to its taxonomy, you'll see a hint asking you to pick one — choose the closest sector.
  • Duplicates. If this company already exists in your workspace, a warning card appears with a link to the existing prospect. Open it rather than creating a twin.

2. Complete the profile

The profile has two columns:

Account foundation (left) — the firmographics: name, website, industry and sub-industry, employees (range and exact headcount), annual revenue (range and exact figure), company type with optional ticker, and strategic priorities — what this account is trying to improve, protect, or grow. The more honest this field is, the sharper everything downstream gets.

Buyer brief & pain points (right) — who you're actually selling to:

  • Persona — the buyer's title and a summary of how they think.
  • Objectives — what success looks like for them, as a numbered list.
  • Approval thresholds — their bar: payback under N months, ROI of at least N%, board signoff over $N. Serre checks your cases against these.
  • Likely objections — what they'll push on, so you can pre-empt it.
  • Likely pain points — one per line; these become starting context for buyer briefs and case build steps.

The brief can be regenerated any time with the "Regenerate" button (uses 1 AI Generation).

3. Saving

The profile auto-saves as you type — the footer bar shows the live state ("Saving…", "All changes saved", "Up to date") with a manual "Save" button if you want to be sure.

Next step

The "New business case →" button at the top of the prospect profile starts a case for this account, and the Business cases panel lists every existing one. See Build a business case.
