Your company profile is the foundation everything else builds on — solutions, drivers, and business cases all inherit context from it. This guide shows you how to create and maintain one in Companies.
Create a profile#
- Open Companies in the sidebar. Your profile from setup is already listed; click "+ New company" to create another (useful if you sell under multiple brands).
- Enter the Company website and click "Analyze website". Serre researches the site and proposes your company details, industry, size, target market, and detected solutions. Hover the button to see what it costs.
- Review every suggestion. Accept, edit, or discard — nothing is locked in.
A profile you haven't finished offers "Continue setup" in its row's … menu and in its drawer. Click it to pick up where you left off.
Edit a profile#
- Quick edits: click a row in the Companies table to open its drawer. Each field saves on its own when you leave it.
- The full profile: click "Open profile card" in the drawer or the row's … menu. Edit Company foundation and Default target industries right on the card. Brand & messaging has "Edit", which opens a drawer. The other panels have "Manage" links to their own pages.
What lives on the profile#
- Workspace snapshot — the company name, industry, flagship solution, and counts of solutions, drivers, and drafts.
- Company foundation — website, revenue, employees, headquarters.
- Brand & messaging — your voice and positioning.
- Solutions and Value drivers — your portfolio, with "Manage" links to their own pages.
- Default target industries — the markets you sell into.
- Solution value focus — the kinds of value your product delivers (cost reduction, productivity, risk, revenue, compliance).
- Evidence — proof points with sources: case-study metrics, analyst quotes, benchmarks you can cite in front of a buyer.
- Accounts — the buyers tagged to this company.
Trust, but verify: confidence dots#
Researched fields show a three-dot confidence meter:
- 3 dots — high confidence, taken straight from a source page.
- 2 dots — medium confidence, inferred from several signals.
- 1 dot — low confidence; worth a second look.
When a source is known, a link icon opens it, so you can check where a value came from before you rely on it.
Editing with Val#
On the profile card, click the Val button (or press ⌘J / Ctrl+J) to open the copilot and make changes conversationally — "change HQ to Austin", "add a highlight about our SOC 2 certification". Val makes the change and tells you what it did. Anything risky, like removing a solution, asks you to confirm first. See Meet Val.
Tips#
- Click "Make default" on your primary profile, in its drawer or its … menu.
- Evidence is what separates a credible case from a hopeful one — add proof points as you collect them, with source links.
