Manage your solutions

On this page

Solutions are the products you sell. Keeping them well-described pays off everywhere downstream: value drivers map to them, and business cases group benefits under them. This guide covers adding, editing, and organizing your portfolio in Solutions.

Add a solution#

  1. Open Solutions in the sidebar and click "+ New solution".
  2. Pick one of three ways to build it. Every path ends at the same review step.
    • Draft with AI — paste a Product page URL and Val reads the page and drafts the whole solution. Hover the button to see what it costs.
    • Build it with Val — answer a few questions in chat and Val fills the draft as you go. Good when there's no page to point at. Each message uses AI credits; hover the button to see how many.
    • Start from scratch — skip straight to a blank form. No AI credits used.
  3. On the review step, check the Solution name and One-line description (write it in buyer language).
  4. Set the Classification. It's one searchable field: pick a category, then narrow it to a subcategory and use case.
  5. Optionally set a Primary target industry and the Product page URL.
  6. Click "Save solution". If you kept the drivers Serre suggested, saving drafts their formulas: hover the button to see the cost.

Edit a solution#

Click any row in the table to open the solution beside it. Each field saves on its own when you leave it — there is no separate Save button. From the same panel you can Re-enrich the solution from its sources or Delete solution.

Solutions detected from your website during setup show "Autofilled at import" under their sources. Treat them as drafts: open each one, confirm the classification, and fix the description.

The flagship#

One solution in your portfolio is the flagship — your primary product, the one that got deep configuration during setup. It carries a Flagship tag in its panel, and value drivers mapped to it show "· flagship" next to its name.

Aim to get every solution classified — unclassified solutions can't pull in tailored driver suggestions.

How solutions connect to value drivers#

In Value model → Drivers, every driver shows which solutions it applies to. A driver mapped to nothing is "Portfolio-wide" — it applies to everything you sell. You set the mapping when building or editing a driver; see Build a value driver.
